WHAT I WORE

Lookbook | Chictopia
Blazer: Misguided* | T Shirt: eBay
Skirt: Vintage | Shoes: eBay
Falsies: February Glossybox*
Glasses Ring: Loops*

Some of you may know, I'm guessing most of you don't, but I do actually wear glasses. I have to wear them all the time due to the fact that my right eye is a lot smaller than my left and even though I CAN see without them I get really bad eye strain and sickening headaches as my eye just can't cope for longer than a few hours. When I used to do my outfit pics indoors I used to try and wear them but I'd get a horrible glare and magnified eyes (due to the thick lens) so I just didn't bother. But they are part of my daily appearance so I want to start including them more and as I'm wearing this amazing glasses ring I thought I'd team them both together. The ring is from a really cute online store called Loops and all proceeds go to the Leeds College Of Art end of year fashion show! As a previous fashion student myself, i know how hard it is to raise money for the end of year show so please help them out if you can!

I got this beautiful misguided blazer after picking it has a S/S favourite in their newsletter I was featured in last month. It's probably my favourite item in my wardrobe at the moment as the colour and cut are just perfect and I'm currently lusting after all the other colours they have, including some hot pink shorts! I totally forgot I had this shirt so I was pretty pleased when I found it tucked under some other tees in a draw. McQueen was one of my favourite designers and this is my favourite photo of him!

I'm now on day 5 of feeling awful, the sore throat has now turned in to a full blown cold and I'm currently in a snot induced hell with bits of tissue stuck up my nose to stop it running. I'm feeling really achy and I'm just feeling really fed up now! I'm really sorry to anyone who has asked me to find them things/advice over the past few days, I just haven’t felt like sitting for hours going through them but I'm going to try and get a few done tonight so keep your eyes peeled if you're after some more bargains. During my eBay searches I often find a lot of things I love myself and I'll happily add them to my basket. I was quite shocked to see I'd managed to rack it up to £148! Obviously I can't afford that, so I'm thinking of showing my boyfriend a couple of links for possible birthday presents this year! Oh and if money was no object, I'd have this beaut on my shoulder right now! One can dream right?

Today I realised I've passed 8000 collective subs for my blog. My mind is literally blown that so many of you want to read about my average life but I'm very thankful you do! I'm going to be hosting another giveaway when I get to 4000 via GFC and I'm only 235 away so I'm pretty excited for that! As my blog seems to be most well known for eBay finds I'm thinking of maybe giving away my favourites? But who knows!

Today I'll be putting together a list of adverts for next month. You still have time to get yours on here, just visit my shop.

THE BEAUTY SERIES - FOUNDATIONS

I often get asked what my favourite products are to use for my face, eyes, cheeks etc so I thought I’d do a bit of a beauty series and feature my most used/favourite products. This week I’m talking about my favourite foundations. I’d like to think I have a good foundation collection, which gives me range in colours, finishes, consistency, coverage and are all various price ranges. These are the ones I use on a daily bases and I’ve been using them from 3+ weeks to a year.

AVON 'MEDIUM WHEAT' 30ML £10*
My newest and favourite foundation from the collection, to me it is ‘perfect’ (finally I have my perfect foundation) it’s silk like finish leaves my skin looking fresh and hydrated. It’s really easy to blend and I’m so happy to say that I still have pretty good coverage at the end of the day. The only thing that puts me off is a slightly is the plastic scent that comes with it, but it’s certainly bearable and it doesn’t change the product at all. I honestly can’t rate this foundation enough, I will certainly be re purchasing it and at £10 a bottle it’s not going to break the bank at all.

RIMMEL 'IVORY' 30ML £6.99
This is my full coverage foundation, it’s the one I go too when i’m wanting a really heavy look. It’s a very thick formula and quick to dry but it is easy to blend. The product is meant to leave the skin feeling hydrated which I would have to disagree with, I wouldn’t say it’s cakey, or that drys my skin out but I can feel that I’m wearing thick coverage and I do look forward to taking this off at end of the day! I’ve bought repeated bottles of this and I’ll continue to do so. At the high street price of £6.99 I think it’s really good value for money and it’s been in my collection since 2010!

CHANEL VITALUMIERE AQUA 'BEIGE TENDRE' 30ML £36
I use this foundation when I want really light coverage and an even skin tone. It’s a very light product as it’s mixed with water but I do find a small amount goes a long way. I like to use this product when I’m wearing minimal make up and want a more ‘natural’ look. It’s one of the most expensive ones, so i can understand why you wouldn't want to spend that much but it is one of my favourites and i've been using it for over a year now so i would say it's worth investing.

ILLAMASQUA 'LF 140' 30ML £21.50
This is the lightest out of all the foundations, which has it's good and bad points. I did a review last week so please go there if you want to read more.

NEW CID 'VANILLA' 30ML £26*
When I attended the NEW CID event back in January I saw this foundation being used by their MUA on one of the girls. We got try out the product and I liked it straight away. So I was really happy when an email popped in my inbox a couple of weeks asking if I’d like to trial one myself. The consistency is probably my favourite out of them all, to me it’s quite mousse like but not overly thick like some foundations you can get. It’s lovely to blend in and gives me a really nice finish. It is the darkest out of all my foundations, but not that dark that I look like I’ve got a totally different skin tone on my face. I like this foundation when I’m going for a ‘bronze’ look and sun kissed. I have tried it with my Illamasuqa one just to see how much the colour changes and it’s actually a really nice colour so that’s another one to add to the list! It is expensive as make up goes and even though i do really love this product i don't know if i love it enough to re purchase it at that price.

WHAT I WORE

Lookbook | Chictopia
Fur Stole: eBay | Dress: Next*
Bag/Jumper: Primark | Shoes: Topshop
Falsies: February Glossybox*

Another outfit post where I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and this time it's Next I have to thank! I was contacted a couple of weeks ago about their 'international styling challenge' they're launching which sees ten of Australia’s fashion bloggers compete against ten from Britain to see who can win the Next fashion blogger crown for their nation. We were all asked to pick an item from their S/S collection and I decided to give styling this dress a go. As I'm small (5ft4) it's a maxi dress on me, which is totally fine and perfect for summer but as it's still February (just!) I decided to add a loose fitting jumper and fur stole, just to make it feel a bit more me~. I honestly don't think I'll get far as there are some amazing bloggers in the mix, but I’m very proud to have been picked as one of the 10 to rep the Brits and I really hope you like it!

Had a very quiet weekend, I’m a little bit under the weather so I decided to just stay in and chill out on the sofa, I'm now on day 3 and I’m still not feeling better. I suffer with my throat a lot, and I have done since I was about 16 where I would spend most of the year having tonsillitis than not. After having them out a couple of years ago I thought that would be the end of it, but no. I suffer just as much now, this time with my glands which results in my neck being painful and swollen and a very sore throat. Unfortunately after being on numerous antibiotics over the past 6 years for it, they don't seem to have the same effect any more so I find the best thing to do it just wait it out, and hope it goes soon!

This month has flown by and it's time again to start sorting out all the lovely bloggers/companies which will be advertising on here for March. So if you're interested in being on here too please head on over to my shop and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Today I'll be finding comfort in the fact I'm warm and cosy whilst the rain hits the sky lights, finish off my ASDA shop & count down the hours until this evening when I can have a lush bath! I'm trying to be a little more organized with planning blog posts, so please send your suggestions on what you want to see whether it's fashion or beauty related. I'd rather post something that interests you and you want to see so let me know!

STEAL THEIR STYLE

Let me introduce the amazingly stylish Sietske! The simplicity of her look is what made me want to feature her for this weeks lookbook and it's just totally 'me'. The cuts and shapes of her clothes just suit her perfectly and i really love the fresh colours. She just looks so effortlessly chic and I'm actually really inspired to do some looks like this too!

Do you like Sietskes look?

PRODUCT REVIEW - ILLAMASQUA

If you read my IMATS post you'll know that i managed to pick up some goodies from Illamasqua. It's been a few weeks now and I've had chance to try all of these products out, so here's what i thought...

I got this foundation in a really light shade because on the days where i want to wear a lot of bronzer tones i don't want to look orange. It's not a look i like, nor does it suit me, so this foundation isn't an everyday one, but it's certainly one for when i want to wear a lot of make up. It's a really lovely formula, very easy to apply and it gives me decent coverage. This foundation will last me a long time as like i said i won't be wearing it everyday but I'd be certainly happy to try another shade in a more everyday colour.

I was SO excited when i first saw these liquid metals and they were the first things i added to my basket, the colours are totally me and I've been really getting in to cream shadows recently so i was very excited to try these out. But i must admit I'm a little disappointed, after a short time of wear the colours started to streak on my eyelid and it looked really messy. I used a primer too which made it even more annoying. The colour pay off is amazing though, very rich and true to colour (the silver is full of sparkles) so that is a good thing but i just wish they were better formulated. I don't know if it's just me, or it's the way I'm applying them but i really wanted to love these and i just don't. I'm glad i only paid £10 for this and not the usual price because i would of been really annoyed.

This is the new~ blogging favourite as all the girls i was with at IMATS picked up this little beauty and have been testing and reviewing it on their blogs too! I've never used a cream blush before, i just got it in to my head that they would be really hard to blend and would end up looking like i had a block colour on my cheek. But I've been using this for the past 2 weeks now and i really like it and to my surprise it does blend really nicely and it's very long lasting which of course is what you want from your blush! I add my Look beauty shimmer blush over the top just to add a bit of shine.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products if you've tried them, especially the liquid metal eye shadows. I am really happy i had a chance to try these products and i would certainly re purchase the blush again, try another foundation shade and give the liquid metals another go. Fingers crossed i learn to love them!

WHAT I WORE

Lookbook | Chictopia
Shirt: Motel* | Leggings: Primark
Flatforms: ASOS
Lipstick: Gypsy by ELF
Nail Polish: Tutti Fruiti by NEW CID*

Block bights are still a favourite trend of mine and i fell in love with the Versace for H&M collection which came out recently, but of course i couldn't justify the price of it all. So I'm really pleased to see the high street give it's take on the collection and Motel are no exception! Such an over the top clashing print and i absolutely love it! I'm very happy to finally be on the flatform bandwagon with these ASOS beauties! I would totally recommend them, but i will say the sizing is a little strange and I've heard they've come up really big for some people. I've slipped some insoles in and it's fine for me though!

I feel like this outfit is like sticking two fingers up to the h8erz, i get far too much ''weight hate'' and so i thought I'd actually give them something to talk about for once! ;)

I had a really lovely weekend back home, i always feel so sad when Monday morning comes round and i have to leave. We stayed in all weekend and enjoyed home cooked food, countless games on the WII and sharing lots of stories! It was just really lovely and I'm already planning on my next weekend home! But coming back to Leeds to a lovely little note and present from Matt made me smile a lot! How amazing is that ring? He designed it himself and got it made in America. Nothing quite like some self promotion!

I'm going to be spending the week HOPEFULLY putting half of my wardrobe on eBay, tidying up the bombsite that is the bedroom (sorry Matt) trying out some new make up & looks and hopefully celebrating some good news i hope to be getting tomorrow!

Hope you all have a fab week whatever you're up to!

Oh and just a heads up to those thinking about buying an eyeshadow palette, Blush Professional have the 78 colour & blush palette on at £7.64! But quick, there's only 4 hours left!
