I started August with a 8.5lbs loss under my belt which was amazing motivation for the month ahead. I had quite a social month, 3 boozy weekends and 4 meals out so I knew my weight-loss wouldn't be as high as July, but I would be happy with any weight loss and any inches lost too. Overall, I lost 3.5lbs in August, which I'm really happy with when I know how much off plan food I've eaten and drank! I think my gym sessions helped me damage control too. I've had a good start to September (I received my Club 10 award which is losing 10%) and with my weekend to Zante now only a week away I am more determined than ever. I've just got 1.5lbs to shift until my next award (1.5st lost) which I'm really hoping I can get this week. Find out if I do over on my Slimming World Instagram account. I'm still going to the gym 5/6 times a week and still making massive improvements in my fitness. I'll do another update on that soon.
So, on to what I've been eating...
Breakfast
Breakfast hasn't changed from last month and to be honest, I can't see it changing anytime soon! Wheatabix and fruit is my go to fuel for in the week as it's great fuel for when I'm running. I tend to have something on toast at the weekend as I usually have that later in the morning so it sometimes counts as a lunch too.
Lunch
Lunch varies at lot, my parents make amazing homemade soups so I usually get a batch of these every couple of months and I'll have one a week. Every couple of weeks I'll also make a batch of chicken or beef with vege and rice or pasta and stick them in the freezer, they're so handy for days when I can't be bothered to make anything or don't know what to have. Leftovers from dinner are always a good too! But sometimes you just can't beat a big ol' salad!
Dinner
My dinners are always varied and I try to get a good mix of meals. A typical week will include meals such as pasta, fish, rice, vege, stir fry and jacket potato. I've recently been loving SW chicken Kievs & Pork chops with Mediterranean vege, both of which I had every week in August..
Snacks
I'm not that bad when it comes to snacks, I know for a lot of people this is their downfall but I find my meals are filling enough that I don't need to snack. However, if I am feeling peckish in the afternoon boiled eggs are my absolute go to. In the evenings my pudding tends to be a Slimming World Hifi bar, the Choca Mocha ones are delicious or I'll have yogurt and fruit if I've not had fruit for breakfast. Mini meringue nests are great for a sweet hit, they're only 1 syn each too which is amazing. In August I also discovered the Proper Corn Popcorn which was delish and only 6 syns a bag!
I buy all of my meat from Muscle Food, you can use my code VP252035 at the checkout to receive 4 free chicken breasts. Alternatively check out their bargain bundles, my personal favourite is the 65 Piece Best Of British.
