JULY WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE

Back in January I rejoined Slimming World, I documented my progress from week to week and all was going well, I was 11lbs down and so close to my stone award. Then life got in the way, a new job and a million excuses later and I could feel the pounds creep back on. At the start of June I decided to stop being so lazy and finally reach that target I had set myself to reach by the end of the year. I documented in a blog post last month about my fitness improvements and what I’d been doing during my daily gym sessions, but I wanted to get back to the original 11lbs loss before I started posting on here again, last week I reached that target and this week with a 3lbs loss I finally got my stone award, yayyyy!

Overall in July I lost -8.5lbs which I’m super chuffed with! I feel like my head is 100% back in it all and I’m so in a routine now I’m not even tempted by the chocolate biscuits James eats beside me in the evening or the late night dash to McDolands for a Mcflurry. I can still have treats such as cocktail nights with the girls, or a meal out with my parents but for the rest of the time I’m keeping to plan and below my 15 syn allowance. I have also started calorie counting, something which you don’t do on Slimming World at all but I find it keeps me focussed and I eat between 1200-1500 calories a day, depending on what I’m doing. I’ve also taken my measurements and taken progress pictures and you can see slight improvements which is very encouraging and I’ll do them again at the end of August. I have also decided to not weigh in weekly during August and do it as an overall month instead. I have a few social events happening and I’d really like it to not effect my weightless so for me I feel a monthly weigh in will be the best thing to do.

So, on to what I've been eating...

Breakfast

My breakfast is probably the most boring/non adventurous as I pretty much have the same thing everyday - Wheatabix with banana and blueberries. I find it's great fuel for the gym and keeps me full until lunchtime. At the weekend I'll have toast with some kind of eggs with either beans, bacon and mushrooms or all of it if I'm wanting a good start to my day! All of course with a bigggg cup of tea!

Lunch

Lunch varies at lot, my parents make amazing homemade soups so I usually get a batch of these every couple of months and I'll have one a week. Every couple of weeks I'll also make a batch of chicken or beef with vege and rice or pasta and stick them in the freezer, they're so handy for days when I can't be bothered to make anything or don't know what to have. Leftovers from dinner are always a good too!

Dinner

My dinners are always varied and I try to get a good mix of meals. A typical week will include meals such as spinach cannelloni, fish, rice and vege, stir fry, cottage pie and jacket potato. My weigh day treat is usually Muscle Food burgers (in a bricohe bun) with chips!

Snacks

I'm not that bad when it comes to snacks, I know for a lot of people this is their downfall but I find my meals are filling enough that I don't need to snack. However, if I am feeling peckish in the afternoon boiled eggs are my absolute go to. In the evenings my pudding tends to be a Slimming World Hifi bar, the Choca Mocha ones are delicious or I'll have yogurt and fruit if I've not had fruit for breakfast. Mini meringue nests are great for a sweet hit, they're only 1 syn each too which is amazing.

I’ve got a few recipes I’ve been perfecting which I’ll be posting on here over the month as well as another exercise update. However, I do post my daily meals and gym updates on my SW Instagram if you’d like to see those.

I buy all of my meat from Muscle Food, you can use my code VP252035 at the checkout to receive 4 free chicken breasts. Alternatively check out their bargain bundles, my personal favourite is the 65 Piece Best Of British

Here's to a slim August!
