LIFE LATELY

My What I Wore blog posts have always been my chatty lifestyle sort of blog posts where I tell you what I’ve been up to, what I’m liking, where I’m going etc but as I’ve not done one of those for such a long time now and I miss talking to you! There’s no dramatic reason, it’s just finding the time to meet Jenny when we both work full time (which often includes weekends) can be a challenge. So today I thought I’d do a bit of a ‘life lately’ and tell you what’s been going on recently...

A Spring Wedding

Back in April, we headed down to Southampton for the weekend to attend the wedding of a couple of friends. Although 3 out of the 4 couples all live in the same town, this one couple live down south so getting us all together doesn’t happen that often, so it was great to get together for a very special occasion. The wedding was at New Place which was stunning, the ceremony and reception happened in one place and as it’s also a hotel we stayed there too. It was a lovely couple of days with lots of laughter all round! I do love a good wedding!

Bicester

On the way home myself and James decided to swing by Bicester. It broke up the journey and it’s always nice to have a wander around the shops and have a spot of lunch. It had been a couple of years since we last took a trip there and at the time I fell in love with a red Vivienne Westwood bag but it was only on the way home that I had said just how much I liked it. On this particular day we were there, I popped back in to the shop, just in case you know? I see the same bag in a dusty pink. The next thing I know James picks the bag up and takes it straight to the counter to pay. A totally spontaneous but incredibly thoughtful gesture, which once again reminded me how lucky I am to have someone so kind by my side in life.

Although I’ve not posted any updates on this recently I have still been hitting the gym and eating well. (I do post update on my dedicated healthy Instagram though) I was poorly for a few weeks in April/May so that kinda threw me off the wagon and I didn’t keep track of my progress so didn’t see the point in blogging about it. However, I’m better now and back in the game. It’s just a month to go until holiday now so I’m in full panic mode, I joke of course! But it is pushing me harder. I’ll do my measurements this week and post a progress post soon.

A Special Engagement

And finally, my best friend got engaged a couple of weeks ago! In St Lucia on a beach I’ll have you know! I’ve known Lauren since I was 12 so we’ve gone through a lot together and I’m so pleased she’s found the one to spend the rest of her life with. It may have taken Jordan 7 years, but he finally popped the question and they’re hoping to get married next October. He's such a sweetie so she's got herself a gooden! We caught up on Saturday in Nottingham for breakfast at Copper (recommended by Nina) and afternoon cocktails at Pitcher & Piano; it was so lovely to hear all the details! I'm super excited already!

Things I'm looking forward to: Drinks with friends on Saturday for the football, trying out this recipe over the weekend and our holiday to Rhodes next month!
