Decorating the house for Christmas is one of my favourite
things to do, so as soon as the first weekend in December is upon us that tree
is up, my seasonal candles are burning and the festive bedding is well and
truly on. Usually I’ll stick some Christmas tunes on in the background whilst I
potter about getting everything in its rightful place and then stick the first
Christmas film on and embrace all things Christmas under the blanket! Although
I may need to venture out this year and watch Christmas With The Coopers at the
cinema (Out Dec 1st), I’ve heard it’s the new Love Actually and I
love that film so I’ve got high hopes for this! It follows four generations of
the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a
series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down,
leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit
of the holiday. Ahhhh I’m SO excited!
Anyway, typically I’ll stick to the same colours each year
and go with something that goes with the colour scheme in the living room and the
above items would fit well with that, mostly anyway! But next year we’ve got
this room on the list for decorating. Last year we did our bedroom a nice cool
mint, this year one of the spare rooms had a makeover and it’s now beautifully
white but next Christmas I’ll have a new living room and I can’t wait! I don’t
really know what I want to do just yet, but these living room ideas are giving me lots of inspiration! Homify is a great website, it’s an online platform featuring home
ideas and inspiration, interior design, architecture, DIY projects and tips for
every room in your house. It’s a bit like Pinterest but specifically just for
the home. At the moment the living room is very neutral with creams and
browns which I do really like so not sure whether to keep it quite neutral or
something a bit more colourful. I do really like grey at the moment though! I
guess should probably decide soon though so I can get some decorations for next
year in the sales!
When will you be
putting all of your Christmas decorations up? What’s your colour scheme?

I set my tree up on Friday night and the colour theme is a muted pink mixed with silver and gold. I've never branched out from the more traditional colours so I'm super excited it turned out so good! I loved this post, you have gotten me so much more excited for Christmas xx
