UNDER £20 MAKE UP CHALLENGE

A few weeks ago i was contacted buy Cosmetics4less about working with them on my blog which was nice as I've bought from there before. I thought it might be really fun to do a post creating a whole make up look for under £20 and that it might be interesting for those who don't like to spend a lot of money on make up but want to achieve a full face for cheap. So these are the items i picked to achieve this look, not bad going considering the full cost was only £16.94. I was meant to receive a lipstick too but it wasn't in the package so for aesthetics i popped some lip balm on and added a bit of pink from the box blusher.

Technic Under The Spotlight Pump Foundation in Porcelain - £2.99
After using this every day this week i'm still very undecided on it. I must admit it gives good coverage and evens out skin tone but the downside is it's quite thick and therefore not easy to blend, adding powder over the top does help massively though. Some days this has latest longer than others and i have no idea why. This foundation is ok, perfect if you're leaving the house for a few hours but for a big night out? No, i wouldn't recommend it. But hey, for £2.99 what more can you expect?

Constance Carroll Pressed Face Powder in Candlelight - £1.99
Lovely natural powder which sets foundation perfectly. It doesn't add colour, isn't overly sheer and is just a nice staple product to have in your collection. I really like it!

W7 Double Act  2 in 1 Blusher and Bronzer - £2.99
Lovelovelove this, in fact I've used it every day in my routine. Obviously it's a copy of the Benefit box blusher and bronzer but for a fraction of the price. I think it's a lovely product, very pigmented and lasts a long time. I put it over my Chanel bronzer to give it more depth and then the blush for my apples. Highly recommend this and well worth the tiny price tag!

Maybelline Eye Studio Duo Eyeshadow in Green Gold - £2.99
Another ok product is this eye shadow duo, at first thoughts it looked lovely and the colours were really impressive. But they're not that pigmented at all really which is a shame. They do give a nice shimmer and does add colour to your lids but i was expecting the green to be greener. This would be great over already applied eye shadows to add a bit of sparkle, but they don't work that great on their own.

Excellence, Long Eyeliner Pencil in Black. With Sharpener- 99p
You can never go wrong with a simple black eyeliner, it does exactly what it's supposed too and the fact it comes with a sharpener is an added bonus.

Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara Soft Black - £4.99
This is an average mascara, i wouldn't buy it if you're expecting a false lash effect but for every day it's perfect. It applies beautifully, gives a more natural look to lashes and it's 100% true in saying it doesn't smudge. Love this mascara for every day wear as it adds something but it's not over the top.

Overall i'm pretty impressed with these products, i do think you get what you pay for but i think I've managed to achieve a fairly decent every day look for a bargain price. I suggest you check out Cosmetics4less as they have loads of products on there including Elizabeth Arden and Urban Decay amongst many others. The company itself is professional and delivery was quick which is always a good thing when you're buying online.

  1. Know what? I love it! It's very natural looking, even with the glittery eyes. That lip colour is gorgeous.
