Every now and again an email will pop in my in inbox which makes me jump around with excitement! This happened a couple of weeks ago when I received a VIP invite to all the Missguided shows for Manchester fashion week. A handful of bloggers had been invited and I was very lucky to have been one of them! If that wasn't amazing enough, the date for these shows was my birthday and I couldn't have been more excited!

So at around 11am on Tuesday I arrived in Manchester and met up with the beautiful Gemma and after getting drenched by the sudden down pour of rain (literally soaked) on the way to the venue we decided to try and dry off in a warm cafe with coffee! She very kindly handed me a birthday cupcake card and note pad for me to write down all my blog post ideas! It was such a thoughtful thing to and I can honestly tell you it was the nicest cupcake I've ever eaten!

We got lost on the way to the venue (despite Gemma being from Manchester LOL) and after lots of phone calls with Sara we finally made it in time to have a quick chat, photo and drink in the VIP area where there were the most amazing tables and chairs which changed colours! We soon headed to our seats on the front row for the start of the 1pm show which was prints. We were sat in quite an awkward place so the photos weren't great but it fun none the less!

After the first show finished we decided to move ourselves to the front of the catwalk to get some better pictures where we were soon joined by Kavita & Rosie. It was lovely to meet Rosie, see Kavita again and after lots of varied conversations and giggles, it was time for the next show; nautical. As we had moved, the pictures were much better and it was really nice to see the styling up close.

Once the show had finished we all headed back to the VIP area where we had some more drinks and chatted about the show! The cupcake was whipped out once more and the girls very kindly embarrassingly sang me happy birthday! What absolute babes theya re. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the rest of the shows (I honestly wish I could have) because I had to get back to Leeds, so me and Gemma had a nice leisurely walk back to the train station. I think we were both so in-depth in conversation we didn't realise we were killing our feet as I now have 6 blisters and Gem had to switch to flats! So worth it though! So after seeing a Leeds train due to leave in 1 minute I quickly hugged Gem goodbye and literally ran down the platform to get on the train, which I did, just. An hour later I arrived back in Leeds and that's where my Manchester fashion day comes to an end.

Not only did Missguided make my birthday one of the best, they also gave me a card signed by all of the team and a goody bag filled all things MG! Tucked at the bottom of the bag was a beautiful dress which I featured on birthday wish list post a few weeks ago! It's time's like this I sit back and realise how fortunate I am to be able to go to things like this and how appreciative I am of everything that comes my way, so thank you again Missguided.

I'll be putting the catwalk show report for the Nautical show up later on this afternoon, so come back later if you want to see photos of the show and a detailed review of what I saw!
