EVENTS - IMATS LONDON 2012

Illamasqua liquid foundation, liquid metal eyeshadow x 2, Cream blush, NYX jumbo pencil x2, lip liner, Real Techniques blush brush and finally a Royal & Langnickel Brush set*.

On Saturday (4th) i attended the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) down in London after receiving for a press pass, which i applied for. Tickets were £45 for one day in advance which i think would be worth it if you were a make up artist/student but i don't think i would personally pay that to attend. You'd have to spend an awful lot to make the discounts worth it and i just don't think i would have done that. But anyway, if you've ever been to the clothes show you'll get an idea of how it looked with various stands around the venue. I didn't have a list of 'must have' items and i wasn't looking for anything in particular but i was happy to have a look around and see if anything jumped out at me. I was keen on trying some items from NYX if i got the chance so when i saw the stand i had a look round and picked up some jumbo pencils (£3.50) which I've heard some amazing things about and a lip pencil (£2.50). I also picked up a blush brush from Real Techniques which I'm still undecided about keeping. I did have a look around quite a few stands, but no where near them all as we were in a big group and i think it would have been very difficult! But the best stand by far had to be the Illamasqua one. It was absolute chaos, and rightly so as the offers they had were amazing. All shadows/blushers were £5, the foundation £7.50 and then i do believe pencils were £2 or £2.50. So as you can imagine, it very busy and very popular. Luckily most of the items were colours i would use so i was really happy when i picked up all of these products. We spent about 4 hours there after arriving around 9.30am, it was a really good idea to go when we did because it started to get really busy just after lunch time which would have made it very difficult to have a propa look around the stands and pick up the items you wanted.

We all decided to go out for lunch and have a detailed chat and discuss all of our mornings purchases so big kudos to Lily for taking us to a lovely Italian restaurant. It really was a fab day, and it's always nice to see new faces and catch up with the girls I've not seen for a while and we even managed to get a photo together (Lily, Anna, Meg, Kate, Sabrina, Me, Katie, Milly, Zoe, Lily, and Emma) But the highlight of the day had to be finally meeting baby glitter and seeing Louise literally bow out of the room which still makes me chuckle to myself!

Did you go to IMATS this year? What did you think? If you've blogged about it then please leave your link in the comments so i can check it out! Also, if you'd like to see a post about any of these items please let me know too!
