STEAL THEIR STYLE

-Lauren

So here's Lauren, isn't she gorgeous?! She's a very lovely girl, and has a beautiful blog so if you don't follow her you deffo should!
These two photos really do represent a change from one week to another here in England as we're now under a massive blanket of snow. I'm quite jealous that Lauren manages to look so stylish in this weather when I'm rocking leggins, long jumpers and multiple pairs of socks! I'm loving the colour coordination she has in both these pics (the cardi working with the fur in the boots, and then her bag matching the boots in the second pic) I don't wear jeans, in fact i don't even own a pair. But Lauren shows me that they are actually a good item to have and can be very versatile. I personally think her clothes represent a typical English style and i love it! She really does show how to look great with layers, yet be incredibly comfy in horrible weather! If you're feeling inspired, H&M have some great pieces at the moment, along with some other high street shops...

My post today is going to be about the amazing website that is Babi Online. As soon as i came across their website i fell in love with literally everything! The thing that appeals most to me is the reasonable price of it all. You know me, im a real bargin hunter and i was finding myself really impressed with their items, and they have so much on their site. It's really nice to see fresh new jewelery on the web. Apart from this amazingly beautiful hand make owl necklace, i really love the dove ring, white comb earrings & black snake bangle. They're even offering a free gift with every item until 31st December! Which is perfect with Christmas around the corner! So, which ones are you going to be asking Santa to get you? Im going to ask him for the snake bracelet!

Here's where you can find them:

I'm cheating, i wore this outfit the other day. I haven't had the time or energy today to do an outfit post. (I probably should have considering the only good thing about the snow is how much light it reflects!) All I'm wearing is a jumper and leggins. It's tooooo damn cold to wear anything but knits and layers. This skirt is from the ASOS sale which occurred last month. It's from Vero Moda and RRP is £26 but i managed to get it for £4.70! Epic bargin in my books.

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know the massive failure at the Gok show yesterday. We were waiting in the cold for an hour and a half before someone from the production team said that there was filming problems and they didn't know how long it would take. I was so pissed off i left, seriously nothing is worth waiting in freezing temperatures. What a waste of an afternoon, and train fare.

So I'm guessing you've all heard that Blink 182 are doing a tour next summer. I'm a MASSIVE fan, and every single song reminds me of my best friends and teenage years. So i was a girl on a mission to get tickets. I managed to get two, for me and my best friend and i screamed down the phone to her when I'd got them. I'm sooooo excited! It'll be th ehird time seeing them. Im gutted another friend can't make it, but she's going to India for the summer! Lucky girl.

I got the 8am train to Leeds this morning to get to the post office nice and early, and i couldn't beleive how much snow there was! So much so my train was delayed by 20mins!(the journey takes 5 mins) But anyway.. I posted 30+ rings & bracelets world wide today. So I'm now currently taking more orders. So if you'd like something, please email me at vipxoblog@gmail.com and i can get it to you in time for Xmas!

This afternoon i've been doing uni work and watching the Twilight films. Our landlord came and bleed the heaters earlier, So for the first time in weeks i've actually been warm indoors! Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

I forgot how much i really do love this dress, even though in real life it's a lot brighter (maybe it's dull cos I'm wearing my coat?!). It's from H&M, i got it back in first year so I've really got the wear out of it!

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that late last night i got a text from my tutor telling us we were going to be on the new show Gok Wan is doing. It turned out he was going to be featuring us or something and making us in to his 'gokettes'. How amazing?! However, it didn't go to plan. Thanks to the children from local schools protesting against tuition fees rising it didn't work out. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the protests (if held correctly) but these kids were laughing and shouting and basically just wanted to skip school. So for health and safety Gok wasn't allowed out, and he actually ran past me. We did get filmed handing out flyer's, and they did film me for a bit (I'm thinking it's cos of the bright dress?!) i probably made a massive idiot out of myself but at least it'll be a laugh! It's always nice to do something different. We've been invited to the catwalk show on Friday so hopefully that will be better and less cold!

Speaking of cold, I'm currently sat here shivvering and i even have on my pjs, thick socks, and a massive jumper on. Plus the heating. I really just can't get warm at the mo! Really will not be surprised if the predicted snow happens this week.

If you follow my blog, and have ordered a rings/bracelets I'm hoping to get them sent Saturday at the latest, i really did want to post tomorrow but I've had broken tiles sent to me so I've had to order some more. I also wasn't in when my envelopes got delivered, so that's another i have to wait for. All the rings are made, just waiting to be sent. Bare with me, i haven't forgotten. I have you all in spread sheet waiting to be ticked off.

Ohh, I'm probably going to pop down to the Aussie Angel event on Saturday afternoon. Any Leeds ladies going along? Let me know!

I was meant to do an outfit post yesterday, but the lighting was shocking so i finally blogged my giveaway and decided to do an outfit post today instead. Today I'm rocking out my trackies, boys hoodie and very cosy snug (what i call them!)

Last week i got 'asked' why i don't style my clothes in a more 'interesting' way and change the location etc. For me this blog is very personal, i share with you a lot about my life and there's nothing that's fake about it. My outfits are real, they are things i wear everyday and i take photos in my living room because it's easy. I am not going to wear the latest designer/high street items, prance around in heels and find a beautiful spot to take photos just to make it 'interesting' for you. This is me, at my most casual look. It's a Sunday, and i don't care. So before i get more hate, really think about why you're following me because I'm certainly not changing a thing, it's my blog, not yours.

Anyway..

I went to see the Harry Potter movie on Friday and ohhhhh my it was brilliant. I really enjoyed it and deffo didn't want it to end! It wasn't as good as the book, but then they never are but I'm really looking forward to July already. I'll be so sad when it's all over, I'm such a Harry geek (and proud). Myself and Matt went for a meal out too, which was lovely as always.

It's been a pretty average weekend, weekly shop yesterday and being totally lazy. This afternoon i have got to tidy my room. Not even kidding when i say half my wardrobe is on the floor. I've also got to tackle a mountain of uni work i now have. I'm pretty sure I've got a deadline on Wednesday for a project I've not even started, but that lesson is a joke and I've spent the past two years blagging my way through it, so why change a habit of a lifetime?
I'm only in one day this week which is brilliant, I'm really hoping to make some progress with it all.

I've had 20+ orders for rings/bracelets in the past few days so as you can imagine I've had to replace a lot of stuff. So bare with me, i will be posting as soon as possible. I'm still taking orders by the way, so if you're interested please drop me an email.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

(I don't know the girls personally, so i don't want to show their faces)

This is my mini collection (i designed and made it all by myself) it's not recent work as it was done at the end of second year (May) but I've only recently done a photo shoot for it. My tutor needed photos of my work to send to somewhere to try and gain independent funding for the college so we got randomly picked. I'm not bothered, it means i actually get photos of my work. For the brief we had to make a collection about what we think makes Britain British, so i looked into different cultures and picked Indian. The silks are 100% Indian and come from a very small family run shop in Leicester. I'm not going to lie, the fabric wasn't cheap but i think it makes the garments so much nicer. I haven't done anything to the colours, they are actually this bright. Sewing those sequins took 12 hours and oh my did my head hurt after that! The gold is screen printed and the pattern is something i drew up on photoshop, it's also based on Celtic patterns. I'm really pleased with what i did, but i was very glad when it was all done. This year i have to double it, and I'm dreading it already!
But anyway, i hope you like them! I'd love to know what you think...

Lookbook / Chictopia

Sorry for the rubbish photos, i took them just before i rushed out to get my train to uni (already being an hour late) and the lighting was really bad. I tried with the flash but it just made me look awful. So these are as good at it got!

I'm wearing my new purchases from Sunday, obviously all from Primark. I got 3 of the same jumpers in different colours and the shorts are exactly what i was after. That scarf was actually from a closing down shop in town for £1! I did get some other bits, that I'm sure you'll see at a later date.

How nice is the necklace I'm wearing? The very lovely Louise from Wallpaper Rose asked if I'd like one of her pieces and i didn't even think twice when i saw this beauty on her site. I had to have a sewing machine, being a fashion student and all that. If you haven't seen her stuff i really recommend you go and check it out, she does all kinds of things that you'll instantly fall in love with. She's even been kind enough to give you lot a 10% discount! All you gotta do is use the code 'VIPXO' at the check out, which is valid until the 14th Dec 2010. Just in time for Xmas!

It's Matts birthday tomorrow, and im actually really excited for him! I've got him more silly presents this year but i know he'll love them. We're spending the day with his Mum and then just chilling out. Going to the cinema on Friday to see Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows It's more me dragging him alone more than anything, then we're going out for a meal. I've been in such an awful mood all week with uni work making me all stressed so im looking forward to just being with him.

I just want to give a big thank you to all of you for following me and your really lovely comments. I really do appreciate every comment & a massive 'love you' to the group of girls who are always there for me, you know who you all are <3 Steph 4 she's new to this and she's an absolute sweetheart!

Bit of a different look for you guys today! Well, it's actually my everyday look as for those you don't know i have to wear glasses. I got asked why i don't wear them in outfit posts and i think today is a prime example of why i don't, see that stupid reflection? Yep, well that's why. It really annoys me. But anyway... this is another item from my wardrobe that I've had for about 5 years now, i bought it in H&M sale for like £5 and i just think it's one of those pieces that never go out.

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I've wanted to go shopping all week. So today was the day i planned to get Matt's birthday presents, start the Xmas shopping and get giveaway bits. Until i remember that I'd promised to go to watch some short films at the Hyde Park Picture House with him this afternoon. It was a collection of films shown for the Leeds film festival. It's just one stop on the train and it was nice to do something different and i actually really enjoyed it. Some beautiful pieces.

Whilst over at Hyde Park i went to Sainsburys to get some goodies and i couldn't
believe it when Lee from Hollyoaks walked past me! Totally sad i know, but who cares! <3

I'm STILL waiting for ring boxes to arrive, i had a card from Royal Mail telling me they tried to deliver something at 11am. Total crap considering we didn't leave until 1pm. So once again, Royal Mail have messed me about and so it could be a few more days. I'm really sorry, i just don't want any breaking on me again.

Tonight I'm going to try my best to get warm (currently shivering), watch Xfactor and eat chicken fajitas. So excited!

Oh and thanks for ALL your lovely comments recently, you're all total babes <3 Im going to make a video about my hair at some point in the next few days.

Enjoy your weekend!

So here it is, finally some uni work for you to see, it's taken me over 4 hours to colour in and i've still not finished! This will all make sense if you read the first paragraph here. Im so pleased with these, and it's a big achievement for me as drawing is something i find very difficult and frustrating. I've decided to carry on this theme for my collection so you'll probably similar colours/desigsn in the near future. These illustrations will be mounted on presentation boards tomorrow, so they'll look a lot more nicer. I now have to finish the sketchbook and hand that in next Weds, then i can get cracking with my collection. Yay!

Before i go, I've made a little hello video on Youtube :)

I really don't wear this dress half as much as i should, it's actually so comfy and i love the block colours! You know me, i don't like a lot off fuss in my outfits! I got it from Primark 2 and a half years ago, and i still love it just as much. The scarf is from there too, and was bought for a £1! Back when they shop was ridiculously cheap.

I had a meeting with my tutor about my dissertation yesterday, and i can't say i feel any more better about it but i know that she'll be there when i need help. i ended up telling her about my blog, because i wanted to ask if i could use it in my dissertation when i ask you lot some questions in a month or two, she was actually quite impressed and was really interested, i told her that no one knows about it. She'll either keep that quiet, or this time next week everyone will know about it.
I did my final two illustations today and im sooo proud of myself!! I usually suck at drawing, but im pleased with these. Promise i'll post pics tomorrow!
(btw im not bothered if people know about the blog, if they find it then fair enough but im not going to go.. 'oh by the way, i have this blog..'

I'm really glad to hear everyone got the rings i sent out on Saturday, not so great to hear that 3 arrived broken/damaged. I'm going to put in a complaint at Royal Mail as that's really not on, i offer free p&p so when things like this happen it ends up costing me a lot of money! Sorry again to the ones who were damaged, I'll be sending replacements out soon. I've also bought ring boxes so whoever now buys one, you'll get it coming in a nice shiny new box.

I've been thinking about maybe doing a Youtube video(s). I really don't want to buy an expensive one (my webcam doesn't record) as im not sure if i want to go down that route, or that i'll even like it. But i might just give it a go and jump on the bandwagon. What do you think?
