4 Trends to Update Your Workwear Wardrobe for Autumn

Although we’re still enjoying the Summer, you might have noticed that some stores have started to bring out their Autumn collections. As tempting as it can be to keep buying Summer outfits it’s not too early to think about the pieces you might want to buy for A/W. If you’re looking for some trend inspiration, then it’s always worth seeing what designers and catwalks have to offer - it always trickles down to the high street later on in the year.

Check Print

This print was seen all over the catwalks and is set to continue as a trend for AW18. Luckily this trend can work well for workwear as it looks professional in several clothing styles. From skirts, dresses, to tops and blazers this is a great print to add to your wardrobe. It’s also easy to pair with other colours and prints as it’s quite an understated print which doesn’t grab too much attention. Wearing a check printed skirt with a smart blouse in a bold colour can help you make a style statement.

Pops of yellow

Yellow is having a moment, and this is set to continue into AW. If you’re not brave enough to truly embrace this vibrant hue, then investing in some accessories will allow you to add the pops of colour to your outfit with subtlety. This could be a pair of shoes, a bag or a scarf. Choosing something you can incorporate into your existing wardrobe will let you make the most of the pieces you already have. Darker shades of yellow, like mustards, will work well and can be a nice way to transition into autumn; we think everyone can find a shade of yellow that suits them.

Leopard Print

It’s back with a bang this year, although it never really goes away for long, does it? This print is a great one to add into your wardrobe and can easily work for workwear. Just be careful not to clash too many prints together at once, less can be more with this one. The print can be subtle, try investing in some leopard print shoes or scarf if you don’t feel confident enough to rock a printed dress or top. If prints are your thing then try incorporating this trend into your workwear wardrobe.

Silky blouses and loose flowing trousers, known as the pyjama trend, are set to stay for Autumn. These can be extremely comfortable to wear and look stylish, so perfect for office wear with just a few tweaks. If wearing trousers and a blouse combination is a bit too much for your workwear style, then there are ways to wear it and still feel comfortable in the office. Pairing a silky blouse with a smart pair of trousers like these can help you pull this look together for the office. Paired with a simple blazer, this look could take you from desk to dinner easily, making it a versatile outfit for any day of the week!
