MILLER & CARTER SHERWOOD FOREST

Mansfield Road, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PJ.

Oh steak, you are my favourite! It's always a meal which represents a special occasion, we'll have it for birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations. We've been to Miller & Carter a couple of times over the years, but last Saturday we popped a long for a spontaneous date night at the newly opened Miller & Carter Sherwood Forest...

After we arrived at our table, we were kindly run through the menu by our lovely waitress. She recommended her favourites, the most popular dishes and how certain steaks are cooked. Whilst we pondered over what to indulge in, we ordered our drinks. James had a red wine and of course, I had a cocktail!

For our starters, I went with the Baked Chedder Mushrooms, which came in a creamy garlic & cheddar sauce, served with garlic ciabatta. James had the Pulled Brisket Croquettes, tender pulled brisket, delicately flavoured with bourbon and coated in panko-style breadcrumbs, with lemon aioli and dressed slaw. So delicious!

We chatted over our drinks whilst our starters went down and we waited for our mains. I like a restaurant where you have a little wait between courses and Miller & Carter have the timings spot on, by the time the main came out we were ready for our steaks! The prime steaks are cooked to your liking and are served with parsley butter, seasoned fries, a slice of onion loaf and a balsamic glazed tomato, along with your choice of lettuce wedge and steak sauce, both of us had peppercorn. We also both had the same steaks, a 12oz ribeye, which is my absolute favourite! We got sides of mac & cheese (oh my, so good) and tomato, basil and mozzarella salad. Basically we had a feast and it was just incredible!

Obviously we had a pudding, although we probably could have left without one, but when in Rome and all that. We decided to share one and I'm glad we did because it was incredible. We went for the Indulgent Tasting Plate, which was a selection of rich chocolate brownie, raspberry crème brûlée, glazed passion fruit tart with mint and fresh berries. Served with vanilla bean ice cream and home baked biscuits. It was so lovely to share and get a mix of flavours, I could so eat this again right now!

We left feeling very content and full! We both said it was a lovely evening and it was another exceptional meal at Miller & Carter under our belts. I already can't wait for another excuse to go back!

Want to check them out for yourself? I'm giving away a £50 voucher over on my Instagram.
