LIFE LATELY

Hello...it's me...
Well, it's been an awfully long time hasn't it? I didn't intend to take a somewhat monthly (and then some) hiatus, but before I knew it two weeks had passed and and then a month. I had laptop problems, weekends away and as time went on I didn't know where to start. I had thought about maybe just stopping altogether but after 7 years and a lot of memories on this blog, it didn't feel the right time to say goodbye just yet either. So here I am, I don't know how much i'll be blogging, but it'll be at least once a week and my eBay posts will be back, starting tomorrow. Thank you for sticking with me, my views say you're all still here so I appreciate that. Anyway, here's what I've been up to whilst I've been away...

New Job

On the 6th March I started my brand new job (to celebrate I hit Primark) as a digital marketing manager for a discount retailer. For the past two years I've done digital marketing agency side and built up my experience this way so it's a big step up for me. It's challenging, stressful and I'm sat at my desk at 7:15am every morning but the people are lovely and hopefully I can make my mark and build up the account. Part of my job means working with bloggers too which of course is the best bit! The not so best bit if having shelves full of biscuits, crisps and chocolate which you can literally help yourself to! You won't be surprised that since I started, Slimming World has taken a back seat, but now I'm more settled and have stopped reaching for the custard creams, I'm now back in group and doing well again - updates will follow!

London

In early April, James & myself headed down to London for the weekend with some friends. We spent the day walking around popping in and out of bars drinking expensive cocktails (ok, that was just me) followed by an Italian meal and drinks in the Sky Garden. Although we didn't really do anything touristy, the sun was shining and it was so nice just wandering about and being in good company.

Chester

Another weekend away we had was to Chester which was really beautiful, it was only a couple of hours drive so we took our leisurely time and enjoyed the ride! It was such a beautiful weekend so it was nice to drive with the windows down, sunglasses on and listening to some old school garage and rnb! We explored the town, had a couple of drinks and stumbled upon an amazing Cuban restaurant, Fiesta Havana. It really was my lucky day because being a Sunday they had happy hour on cocktails and tapas! SO good, honestly visiting Chester just for this place is so worth it!

My Birthday

On April 10th I turned 28! TWENTY-FLIPPIN-EIGHT. I wasn't so bothered about this birthday but thanks to my amazing other half, it ended up being one of the best yet. He wined and dined me all weekend and genuinely made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world! My day started off with a giant Millies Cookie, luckily my twitter hint paid off! I was also very kindly sent this fab breakfast hamper from Moonpig which we enjoyed the following morning. Here's to being 28, I think it'll be a gooden..

Chester Zoo

I'm just going to go out there and say it, I'm The Secret Life of the Zoo obsessed. Honestly, I can't get enough of it. I think I've seen every episode a million times so when it came what to do for my birthday, heading to Chester Zoo was the only possible place to visit. We spent literally all day there and it was honestly so incredible, it's a fantastic place to visit and I can't wait to go back! I'm going to do a full post about it so expect to see that soon.

And here's a few...

Songs I've been loving:
Sormzy – Birthday Girl, Drake – Passionfruit & Calvin Harris - Slide
Things I've been watching:  Car Share (oh my, so funny), Prison Break & The Secret Life Of The Zoo (obz)
Items I'm lusting over:  This dress, these shoes and these sunglasses.
Things I'm looking forward to: Getting back on SW and the gym, hopefully booking out summer holiday soon and then bridesmaid dress shopping with my bestie, 6 months to go!

Until next time...
