24 HOURS IN YORK - DAY 2 #MERCURECITYSWAPPERS

Remember last week I mentioned about my trip to York in December? Well here's part 2, our stay at the Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel. Check in was straight forward, all staff were very friendly and accommodating and within 10 minutes of arriving we were in our stunning room...

The room was so big and really light thanks to the big windows, there was plenty of space, it was more of suite than a room! I wasvery pleased to see a bath, you know I miss my baths! The lamps made the room really relaxing in the evening and the bed was super comfy. I've stayed in a lot of hotel rooms and this is certainly up there with one of the best. I was really nice to relax and chill.

Like I mentioned in the previous post we were kindly offered dinner and breakfast, both of which had things we liked which was good. Prices are reasonable, not over hiked hotel prices which was good. James had a prawn cocktail for starter, I had soup and we both had burgers as our main. As we'd already had afternoon tea that day we decided to skip pudding and take cocktails up to the room instead.

There was a decent selection for breakfast. Full English or continental, we both opted for a full English which was self service. The only thing we didn't see was a fruit basket, but we did go down a little later than others so maybe it had all gone. We both left feeling very full and ready for the drive home.

Thanks again Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel, we really did have a wonderful couple of days in York and we'll certainly be back soon!
