HOMEMADE BURGERS & CHIPS (SLIMMING WORLD FRIENDLY)

Since i first mentioned doing slimming world on here a couple of months ago, what i eat is a question i get asked an awful lot. So i thought it was about time to introduce weekly recipes and i'm starting with my favourite, burgers & chips. This is so easy to do, and the fact it's 100% homemade makes it taste even better! If you want to try this, you will need extra lean mince, two baking potatoes, burger toppings (i picked lettuce, onion and low fat cheese), whole wheat roll, lea & perins, garlic salt, white pepper and paprika. You will also need fry light.

The chips - You can peel the potatoes, or leave the skins on and cut in to chips. As my oven is pretty good i don't need to boil the potatoes first but i have done before to make them fluffy. Using fry light, spray your baking tray, put the chips in and give a generous spray all over. Place in the oven at around 200 for 30/40 mins depending on how well done you want them.

The burger - In a mixing bowl add the mince and as much of the lea & perins as you want. Same applies for the garlic salt, white pepper and paprika. I usually add a generous amount of them all as i like to give the burgers a lot of flavour, but again it's all about preference. Using the fry light again, spray your frying pan and cook the burger until it's done to your taste.

And then you're done, serve how you see fit and then tuck in! So easy to make and so yummy!

  1. This looks amazing and so yummy! I can't eat it though, I'm kind of doing my own version of a "eat clean" diet. So no beef for me! I use soy burgers though and sweet potato! So yummy :)

  10. Ahh thanks for this, I was only 1lb away from my 3 stone award and after being weighed on Monday night was gutted to have put 3lb back on! (Bank holiday boozing was to blame!) I felt like giving up, but I'm definitely going to try this recipe in the week!

Your chips look perfectly cut, but if anyone is as cack handed as me, I highly recommend a chip cutter from eBay for a tenner, it's now my favourite thing in the kitchen!

You're doing so well & look amazing. As a fellow SW member I look forward to seeing your other recipe posts! xx

  12. I love homemade burger and chips! Usually go with turkey mince over beef due to my IBS, but not sure how that works on SW. Going to try these for my sis who is on SW when she visits.
