Another outfit post where I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and this time it's Next I have to thank! I was contacted a couple of weeks ago about their 'international styling challenge' they're launching which sees ten of Australia’s fashion bloggers compete against ten from Britain to see who can win the Next fashion blogger crown for their nation. We were all asked to pick an item from their S/S collection and I decided to give styling this dress a go. As I'm small (5ft4) it's a maxi dress on me, which is totally fine and perfect for summer but as it's still February (just!) I decided to add a loose fitting jumper and fur stole, just to make it feel a bit more me~. I honestly don't think I'll get far as there are some amazing bloggers in the mix, but I’m very proud to have been picked as one of the 10 to rep the Brits and I really hope you like it!
Had a very quiet weekend, I’m a little bit under the weather so I decided to just stay in and chill out on the sofa, I'm now on day 3 and I’m still not feeling better. I suffer with my throat a lot, and I have done since I was about 16 where I would spend most of the year having tonsillitis than not. After having them out a couple of years ago I thought that would be the end of it, but no. I suffer just as much now, this time with my glands which results in my neck being painful and swollen and a very sore throat. Unfortunately after being on numerous antibiotics over the past 6 years for it, they don't seem to have the same effect any more so I find the best thing to do it just wait it out, and hope it goes soon!
This month has flown by and it's time again to start sorting out all the lovely bloggers/companies which will be advertising on here for March. So if you're interested in being on here too please head on over to my shop and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Today I'll be finding comfort in the fact I'm warm and cosy whilst the rain hits the sky lights, finish off my ASDA shop & count down the hours until this evening when I can have a lush bath! I'm trying to be a little more organized with planning blog posts, so please send your suggestions on what you want to see whether it's fashion or beauty related. I'd rather post something that interests you and you want to see so let me know!
Love the fur stole and the shoes! I'm even shorter than you (5ft nothing!) and have always been terrified of looking ridiculous in a maxi dress, but maybe it's time to try it out!

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress, the colours are just perfect either for summer or for colder weather as they're so rich and so is the patterning! Best of luck I think you have a really lovely style - unique yet attainable!

i absolutely love this outfit, the dress print is so nice. i'm the same height as you are and you're convincing me that maybe i don't have to boycott the maxi skirt forever! i've always avoided it thinking i'd look ridiculous.
ReplyDeletehope your throat gets better soon, it must be such a pain. i've got a sore throat currently so cannot imagine how tedious and sore it must be to have one constantly.

ReplyDeletethis look is lovely! all the best for getting far in the competition :) i have exactly the same tonsils/glands problems, except i've had it all my life. i find the only thing that helps is gargling salt water (gets rid of the pain for a couple of hours) and waiting it out! hope you feel better soon xx
ReplyDeleteReally, really lovely outfit on you! I am completely in love with this dress from the colour and print to the length. Beautifully styled as well!

At first I wasn't sure about your look but after a few mins of scrolling/looking I am now sold :) I think it's all the vintage-y touches you've given to compliment the pattern and colour of the dress. Good luck xo
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so beautiful I love it in every post! I hope you get well soon and good luck with the comp!
