You may already be aware of the Swiss watch brand Longines, but if you’re not let me just tell you a little about them. Owned by the Swatch Group, they were founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland which is where they are still based now. You might recognize its winged hourglass logo which is the oldest registered trademark for a watchmaker, pretty cool huh?
On the of 18th May, Longines welcomed the beautiful
Kate Winslet, who has been its Ambassador of Elegance for 6 years, to its head
office in Saint-Imier for the first time. During her visit, Kate selected a
watch that will be re-issued throughout the year and the proceeds of the sales
will go to The Golden Hat Foundation, I’ll tell you more about that shortly.
Walter von Känel, President of Longines, accompanied the actress throughout the day, giving her a guided tour of the HQ so that she could see for herself the production and assembly processes for making these timeless pieces (excuse the pun!).
The Golden Hat Foundation is a non-profit organization that Kate co-founded in 2010 after filming A Mother's Courage: Talking Back to Autism. The organization focuses on raising strengths-directly related to autism awareness and their mission is to 'Change the way people on the autism spectrum are perceived, by shining a light on their abilities and emphasizing their great potential'. Which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a wonderful foundation.

The SwissWatchmaker Longines spontaneously decided to support this non-profit
organization as it has a long tradition of supporting worthy causes. The Golden
Hat Foundation values fall in line with those demonstrated by the actress and
Longines is delighted to be associated with the Golden Hat Foundation with such
an example of kindness that Kate Winslet has shown during her time with the
group.
I partnered with the brand to write this article but every word is my own.
Love Kate Winslet and all the work she does!
