HOW TO ENJOY YOUR TRIP TO SICILY TO THE FULL

Though the summer is over, this may be the best period to travel to Sicily, as July and August are extremely hot. The spring and autumn seasons are long and enjoyable, while the summer is often crowded regardless of the humidity and extremely strong sun. One may think that since Sicily is an island, you can be amazed by ‘only’ the seaside. However, it is in fact strewn with olive landscapes, trekking locations, historic sites and local foods to remember.

To enjoy your trip to Sicily to the fullest, here are some of the most beautiful things to see.

Mount Etna
Whether you simply love a gorgeous landscape or an adventure destination, Mount Etna is a must-see. On the east coast of Sicily, you can find this active stratovolcano that you can climb up to get a perfect view. Bonus: this is perfect for travellers of all ages! You can take a cable car up, an adventure in it of itself for young kids.

Taormina
Taormina is on the east coast on the island and is known as Sicily’s most dolce vita hilltown. The city itself is one of the most beautiful things to see, as you can see the Teatro Greco and wand your way down to the seaside.

Mosaics in Cefalu
At the Duomo in Cefalu, you can find what are considered to be the oldest and best-preserved mosaics in Sicily.

Ear of Dionysius and Ancient Greek Theatre
Ear of Dionysius is a limestone cave that you can find in Siracusa. It is carved out of the Temenites hill, and though many people make their way over to Siracusa to see the Ancient Greek Theatre (for good reason), the Ear of Dionysius is an unexpected beauty.

As you make your way to these beautiful spots, your transportation and accommodation make a big impact to your experience in Sicily. At the end of the day, having a relaxing place to come home to while help you recharge for your next day of adventure! There are many marvellous beach front villas, just take a look here at the huge choice. They will offer you the privacy and security best to wind down. Not to mention, you will have your own kitchen so you can whip up your favourite meals with the wonderful local foods! Since there are so many cities to see on different parts of the island, renting a car gives you the flexibility you will surely want!
