PRODUCT REVIEW - REMINGTON ILIGHT PRO

Last month i was kindly sent the Remington i-LIGHT Pro to feature and review, having only ever really used razors (and the odd painful wax) i was quite interested in trying something else. Hair removal isn't a subject we openly talk about a lot, but it's something the majority of us do and a lot of money is spent on this process, whether that's just buying stuff to use at home, or going to the salon a couple of times a month.  As I've been using this for a while now i thought it would be the right time to share my views.

So, how does it work?
A pulse of light energy is applied to the skin by the device which is then absorbed by melanin within the hair follicle and turned in to heat. What the heat does is disables the hair growth and within weeks the hairs in the area fall out. Every hair on the body goes through a continuous growth cycle, from active to resting phases. Light-based treatments only affect hairs in the active phase, which can account for up to 90% of hair follicles.

How do you use it?
Treat in a grid-like pattern, making sure to cover all hairs in the treatment area. Do NOT treat same area of skin with multiple flashes during the same session. After a hair follicle is treated, it can take a few weeks for the hair to fall out. It's really easy to use and i'm useless with things like this.

How often do you have to do it?
It is recommended to use the i-LIGHT Pro system every 2 weeks for the first 3 sessions to ensure you treat every active hair. After that, use the i-LIGHT Pro system as needed for any missed hairs or hairs that have recently become active.

Is it painful?
No, but I found it did sting a little bit to begin with, but after a couple of sessions i couldn't feel it at all. It just feels a little warm but that's not unconformable at all.

What are the results?
Incredibly slow hair growth, i noticed such a difference in only a couple of sessions too which really impressed me. I have quite dark hair on my legs which makes this work a lot better, so keep an eye on your hair colours as some areas will work better than others.

Now i know this is expensive, but if you're someone who spends a lot at the salon on hair removal then in the long run this would be a lot cheaper. You can also do it in the comfort of your own home at a time when it suits you which is a big bonus for those of us with very little spare time. It's easy, relativity quick and pain free.

I really like this product, i think it works really well and 100% does exactly what it claims to do!
