When I give reviews on my blog, I’ll have tried the product for a few weeks before writing down my thoughts in a blog post. But when this beautiful Chanel palette came popped through my letterbox last week I just couldn't wait to show you all.
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by
Perfume´s Club and invited to pick a couple of items to review and write about my experiences with the company. Even though the name would imply they only stock perfumes (they do have some amazing offers on those too!), they actually have everything you could imagine from all high end
women´s cosmetics at a cheaper price. Think Dior, Clarins, Lancome, YSL etc etc, the website is full of hidden beauty gems with a nice and easy search option, meaning you can find whatever you're looking for.
I headed straight to the Chanel section and obviously fell in love with everything, but as I’ve never tried their eye shadows I was pretty keen on seeing what they were about. So then came the task of picking a colour selection. As we're going in to Autumn I wanted to get something to represent the colours, I decided to get
Chanel les 4 ombres #8 Vanities which has 4 purple toned shades, a colour I’m really loving at the moment.
Each of the shades have a shimmer undertone, but it's certainly not loose enough to fall over your face like some can do. As far as the pigmentation goes, they're ok. They're certainly not rich or creamy, in fact they come across as quite dry which makes the colour pay off not brilliant. But they do give a lovely shine to the eye lid with a subtle hint of colour which is really pretty. The medium purple (bottom right) has a beautiful mix of gold in there which adds another dimension to the product.
Overall I’m really impressed with the service from
Perfume´s Club, they were really helpful and shipping was incredibly fast. As for the Chanel palette, it's a nice colour selection to have and I can see me using it a lot, but if you're looking for full on heavy make up then this one probably isn't for you. I'd be really interested in trying out some others though! I certainly haven't closed the book on Chanel eye shadows just yet!
Have you tried Chanel eye shadows? What do you think?
