DAY TRIP - NEWARK

On Saturday we took a little trip to Newark for the day. It's not that far from my home, but it was far enough to feel like we were going somewhere but still local. I haven't really ever been around Newark, despite it being so close and I'm not really sure why as it's a lovely little town. It very much reminds me of York which is one of my all time favourite places. I just love all the old building with cobbled streets, anywhere that oozes history i'm a big fan of. We walked around the town, visited the castle and then had lunch at a tea room next to the canal. It was a lovely few hours out in the sunshine and i'd certainly love to visit again!

I've spent the past few days back home in Leicestershire so i decided to take a little break from blogging whilst i was there too. I don't get to see my parents as much as i'd like and as i spend the majority of my weekends usually doing blog posts for the week ahead i just wanted to take a couple of days to spend with my family. After finding myself putting my blog first over the past few months I've decided i need to make more of an effort in my 'real life' and so sometimes my blog will take a backseat. Which will be difficult, I'm a sucker for routine.

This outfit isn't anything special and i was in two minds about posting it for a number of reasons, but it's Monday and Monday is outfit pic day (see, told you i'm all about the routines) so i thought I'd show you anyway. This is what i wore on Saturday during a day trip to Newark (post tomorrow). When i packed for going home i just literally threw whatever in my bag for lounging in the garden, there weren't any plans for going out so i had to make do, hence the somewhat laid back (practically vertical) kinda outfit.

Thanks to everyone who has subscribed to my new channel i really appreciate all your lovely comments! I've taken likes/dislikes off because it was apparent people we're disliking for the sake of disliking and personally i just think that's really bad practice. I'm all for constructive criticism but disliking something just because i've personally posted it is a bit unfair. But hey, if the dislikes are genuine then i think i should re think having a channel.

PRODUCT REVIEW - UD 'BOOK OF SHADOWS VI'

I'm a big fan of Groupon and have been buying from them for over a year now. Apart from one item which took 7 weeks to arrive, i honestly cant fault their service at all. I really like the idea behind the site and how each region has various offers along with national ones too. One afternoon i saw this deal and hit the buy it now button straight away.

I don't own any Urban Decay products, i don't know why exactly as I've heard amazing things about them but i just never got in to the hype, especially with the Naked palettes. Urban Decay is quite pricey so i wanted to make sure that my pennies were justified and i firmly believe they are now. Like honestly, i want to own everything from Urban Decay.

I haven't actually used everything from this palette, apart from a couple of highlighter colours but from what I've seen and from doing the swatches i can see the colour pigmentation and pay off is incredible and i really see why Urban Decay is as popular as it is. I've often told you guys about my favourite eBay store and have featured them many times in asks and on my weekly posts, one week i even did a whole post with items just from the store. So when an email from them appeared in my inbox a few weeks ago asking if I'd like to work with them i thought all my Christmases had come at once! I picked out a couple of items and this jumper was one of them, i just love the pattern. I will say that the sizing is a little small, it comes up quite cropped on me but you can put that down to my curves.

This weekend has totally flown by as usual, i spent Saturday morning watching the new Batman film which was incredible, seriously go and see it and yesterday marked start of my new YouTube channel! I've decided to fully embrace it and make a point of sticking too it, hence the new channel/ new start type thing. I hope you'll join me on there and decide to subscribe, thank you so much to everyone who has so far! I really appreciate it.

I'm hoping this week goes nice and fast as I'm off home next weekend to visit my parents, I've not seen them in months (which i hate) so I'm really excited to see them and of course Ken the 'not so anymore' kitten.

PRODUCT REVIEW - PHYTO HAIR CARE

I’ve heard a lot good things about these products from Phyto so i was really excited to try the strengthening shampoo, smoothing mask and finishing serum from their new range. I have naturally wavy/curly hair so I am prone to frizz (especially now with the warm weather) so the smoothing mask sounded perfect along with the finish serum. The packaging is lovely, it looks really professional and the shampoo smells incredible. But unfortunately that’s where the positives end. My hair really didn’t like these products; in fact they totally dried my hair out and then went greasy incredibly quickly. Now i only wash my hair once a week so when it got half way through and it looked awful i was really surprised. I continued to try them for a few more weeks but to be honest my hair just stayed the same. These products are quite expensive so for them not to work i found it quite disappointing. I know everyone’s hair is different and what doesn’t work for me could be the Holy Grail product for someone else but i thought I’d add my two cents to the mix.

I've always been a silver kinda girl, always picking silver over gold every time. But recently I've found myself lusting after more gold items and before i knew it i has a basket full. I never used to like rose gold either, yet here i am. My usual taste has totally changed and I'm planning on fully embracing it.

Today I'll be showing you the two outfits i picked out, this is my night time look. I picked this one because of the gorgeous embellished detailing on the body, collar and cuffs. I love the long sleeves but i can't say i love the gathered shoulders!
