The time has come to replace my very old (very loved) shoulder bag from Primark. After nearly a year it's started to fall apart and has certainly seen better days. As much as i love to use a larger bag for all my necessity’s i also like to have a little shoulder bag for when I’m nipping to the supermarket or out to dinner, one that's perfect for your purse, keys and phone. The Primark one has served me well but it's time to shop around. So of course i turned to eBay and added these to my wishlist. They're a little bit larger than i would usual use, but the design and colours are just perfect for what i'm after. I've also decided to buy a designer replica shoulder bag too, but i need to decide between this one or this one. Help?
Quad palette 'Aspen' - £21.50*
If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know that I'm a big fan of newcid cosmetics and have featured them numerous times on here. It's a brand I rate really highly and after finding myself researching for their items more and more it's safe to say their up there with my favourites. I already own one of their eye shadow quads (choca mocha) which I use all the time so when this one (aspen) popped through my letterbox over the weekend I was excited to see if it was just as good. Usually I wait a few weeks trying a product before giving it a review but with already owning the other palette and knowing the quality of New Cid products, 3 days of using it is enough to say how much I love it. The quality, wear time and pigmentation is just good as choca mocha which doesn't surprise me in the slightest! Even though they're a powered shadows there's no fall out at all and to me they have a slight creamy consistency, there's a mixture of matte and shimmer too. It's a perfect little palette for a smokey eye and it's certainly the right size for traveling. I'm so pleased I own this palette too as now I have a day one and a night one which is perfect for carrying in my handbag or when I go away. I know it's not cheap, but I would recommend them 100% and i promise you won't be disappointed!
Jumper:ASOS via eBay | Bag: eBay
Hat/Necklace: Primark | Shoes: Office via eBay
You know when you find something on eBay and you just simply have to have it? Well this jumper was one of those items. I don't usually bid on eBay, i much prefer to buy it straight away and save myself the stress but as I'd been searching for weeks for a neon jumper and this was the only one to fit the bill so i knew it was meant to be. Luckily, after a little bidding war and with the help of goofbay, it became mine and arrived on Saturday. I paid £14.50 for it which i think is a good price when the RRP was £40 and it has got signs of wear, but I'm happy and i really like it. It's actually a really thick knit so it'll be perfect for winter and even now during our 'summer' with my beloved fur hat from Primark last year of course.
Date night, brunch, this weeks outfit post, sweet treat, lunch, bunting necklace from gabbysbazaar, products from Ginvera(BB cream is incredible!), beauty boxes, dinner, Thursdays outfit, Fridays outfit (shirt from here), breakfast c/o my boss, chicken salad, Dorothy Perkins sale goodies, yesterdays not so great pizza, McDs c/o the boyfriend, ASOS neon jumper via eBay & some new newcidcosmetics products to try.
*I feel like i should make a point of saying that all my lunches and dinners during the week are healthy and low cal (apart from yesterday when my boss bought us all breakfast). I do however allow myself to eat what i want at weekends. I wouldn't usually make a point of saying this but seeing as though this post is full of food and the fact I've had some weight hate this week i feel like it should be mentioned and justified.
Earrings // Dress // Heels // Ring // Clutch // Top
I hope you don't mind another wishlist post this week, they always seem to go down well and as i have plenty of items getting added to my basket on a daily basis i thought i might as well show you what I've been lusting after!
You know sometimes when a beauty product comes in to your life and you wonder how on earth you lived without it? At first it was the MUA Heaven & Earth palette (review here) and then it was the eBay blush palette (review here) and now it's this little gem from Accessorize. Last month they had an event down in London to show their new collection which unfortunately i couldn't attend, however a very lovely lady called Maggie sent me some products to review and this 'Lovely Day' palette was in the very generous package she sent.
I'm a big fan of palettes, as i like to mix/blend my colours i find it's easier to do so when i have a palette in front of me instead of single shadows. I find I'm more inspired when i have a good range of colours in front of me too. This palette has everything i want in it, if i could pick a palette to represent me and my favourite colours to wear this would be it. You have your darker shades which are perfect for a smokey eye and the lighter shades perfect for highlighting/blending. There's a brilliant range of matte and shimmer too which is also good to find in a palette and all the colours are very rich in pigmentation and texture. Overall i think this palette is amazing, i actually don't know what else i can say apart from 'you need to try this yourself!' as this post hasn't done it justice at all. You can get Accessorize products at Superdrug.
I'm sorry i haven't got any swatches, the pictures i took was rubbish. But i was thinking about maybe doing a video about this palette at the weekend if anyone wants to see it in person? As always, let me know!
I must admit I've never really shopped at Bank (not in recent years anyway) and it's a shop i wouldn't usually give a second thought about. But after receiving an email the other day with a link to their site i went and checked them out and liked what i saw. I think Bank has changed a lot in the past few years and it's a lot more affordable now than what it used to be, but that could just be me? It certainly offers a good selection of 'on trend' items from ome well known brands such as Lipsy, Rare and they even stock Queen Bs clothing line House Of Dereon. It's not just fashion items they stock, there's also beauty, accessories and a guys section. I'm actually really impressed with Bank, i still think it's a shop i wouldn't actually go in on the high street but it's certainly something I'd check out online every few weeks.
Above are a selection of my favourite dresses from various brands on the site. They have lots of other items from blazers, trousers, skirts, knits, swimwear and lounge wear amongst a whole list of others so definitely check them out, I'm sure you'll find something you'll love!
Blazer: Missguided* | Tee: eBay
This has got to be one of my all time favourite outfits and i do wear quite a lot despite the fact I've never actually shown it on here before. You know that I'm a big fan of block brights and this tee is right up there with the neon trend so it's perfect. It's just such a comfortable outfit to wear and i think it'll be a 'go to' outfit for a long time yet. I'll probably get asked about the t shirt so just to clarify, i have owned it for nearly a year now so obviously the seller doesn't exist anymore, unfortunately i haven't been able to find another one.
I've had another really busy week at work but I'm still absolutely loving it, everyone there is really lovely too and it doesn't feel like 'work' at all. Even though the the hour and a half of driving/being stuck in traffic everyday makes me so tired, the fact that i love what I'm doing makes it so worth it and I'm really happy!
The Leeds College of Art graduate fashion show was really good last week (post coming soon), there were a lot of amazing collections showing incredible talent. All the outfits/work (along with every other course at the college) is now on display for the rest of the week. If you've just finished school and not sure what to do next you should seriously pop down and see if you get inspired.
After getting a couple of comments/tweets from people saying they've voted for me in the Cosmo blog awards, i just want to say thank you again. I'm not sure how long the voting is on for, but it means a lot that you decided to vote for me and my little space on the interwebz!
I hope you all have a good week whatever you're got planned! Word is there's some sunshine coming to us this week (YAYYY!!) but lets not shout about it too much in case we scare it away!
I think i was too lucky with how much i enjoyed the week before on Jenny Craig because last week wasn't so great. I'm still really enjoying the breakfasts which i now eat at my desk when i get to work and makes me less hungry towards the end of the morning. The lunches are still really nice but I'm just not feeling full after a couple of hours. I'll get to about 5pm and I'll be really hungry again and even though they're convenient I'm just not wanting to eat the dinners when i get home. So as i have a week and a bit left I've decided to come off it this week and then do my final week next week instead. It's more of a test for myself really to see can find substitute meals for when i do come off it and hopefully I'll be finding the right balance. I've planned all my lunches and dinners for this week after researching healthy/low cal meals so fingers crossed I'll have a better week! My shape is still changing which is nice to see even if I'm not dropping many lbs i know what I'm doing is working which is also why i want to try my best and stick with it.
I'll be updating again next Monday. If you have any questions please feel free to tweet/email/formspring.
Disclaimer: I have been given these meals for free but it in no way changes my opinion on this programme. This is a personal choice. I am not doing this for anyone but myself and I am certainly not saying the size I am now is 'wrong' it's just not a size I’m not comfortable with on myself.
I wasn't feeling a designer inspired post this week so i thought I'd do a wishlist post instead! Here's another selection of items I'm currently lusting after, some are recent editions but the Marc Jacobs earring and Y clutch have been on there for a while so i think they'll be the next things i treat myself too. I'm thinking about doing another one of these posts on Wednesday so let me know if you want to see that or something else!
