MONTHLY FAVOURITES - APRIL

This type of post as been requested quite a lot and i really enjoy reading them so i thought for the month of April I'd show you some products I've been loving and reaching for every day!

FACE
This Caudalie Beauty Elixir has been doing the rounds in the blogging world for a while now and after using it a couple of times i decided to bring it in to my collection for April. It does a exactly what it says on the bottle, it leaves my skin looking fresh with a dewy glow. A great product for using before you've applied your make up and after. I've mentioned this foundation a lot and you can find it in action quite frequently on my Fridays Face. It's a lovely one from Avon and it's just perfect for me. It's light enough make me feel as though i haven't got anything on but it also gives me amazing long lasting coverage. I've done a more detailed post about this so if you're interested please click here. This blush palette is also a product I've been raving about for the past month and I've been reaching for it pretty much every day. Again Ive done a full review so if you want to read that please go here and if you want to get your hands on this fab £5 palette from eBay please visit this seller.

EYES
I know i only did a full review of the Maybelline colour tattoo eye shadows last week but considering I've been wearing them every day since i got them i thought I'd include it in here too! For years now I've only used liquid eye liner, the thought of using gels just seemed to difficult and messy but when i received this New Cid one after their event back in January i thought I'd give it a go this month and I'm glad i did. There are 3 liner colours in black and greys and they're made up of a really nice and consistent formula. I've already hit pan on the black one but the greys are dark enough to substitute. It applies beautifully with a brush and the wear is fantastic, if anything i sometimes find it quite a challenge removing it all at the end of the day! Finally this jumbo eye pencil from NYX has just made my eyes pop! I use this in the corners of my eye and on my water line and I've found it's made my eyes look a lot more fresh! It's a good product to use for a base too!

LIPS
These love heart lip balms from MUA Cosmetics have barely left my lips this month! I find that when the weather changes dramatically it really effects the condition of my lips and it's pretty cold in my flat too! I'm sure you'll agree with me when i say there's nothing worse than sore/chapped lips! These little pots are have a lovely vanilla scent, they leave your lips feeling hydrated and they also add a slight colour! They're great for carrying around and at only £2 each it's certainly not going to break the bank!

HAIR
I noticed over the past few months that my hair had started to look a little worse for wear and the routine i had wasn't really working anymore so i decided to try out some products and see if i could get it back in to a nice condition. I'd heard a lot about hair oils so i was really pleased to see a sample of Macadamia oil in a recent Jolie Box. I liked the product so much i went and bought a bigger bottle on buyapower last month. It leaves my hair feeling very soft, sleek and much easier to manage! I've also been loving the John Frieda repair range and this by far is my favourite product, I've actually used this whole tub up which is a little disappointing because it only lasted about 4/5 washes (but then i do have quite thick and long hair so i do have to use more product) but i will certainly be buying a replacement. A full review of the repair range will be up in a couple of weeks for those interested!

PRODUCT REVIEW - MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO 24HR

Colour Tattoo 24HR Eye Shadow - £4.99

Unless you've been living under a beauty rock since the start of the year you'll have probably already heard about these eye shadows. I don't really get excited about new product releases but there was just something about these which got me hooked. After reading lots of reviews from American bloggers, I patiently (actually, not really) waited for them to come out in the UK, which they did last month. It took me a while to get my hands on them as everywhere I went seemed be sold out in the colours I wanted so I turned to the Internet and ordered these two (Immortal Charcoal & Permanent Taupe) from Superdrug.

The first thing I noticed is the thickness of this product which made it incredibly hard to use with a brush, so for the best results I use my finger which also makes it a lot easier to blend. At first there is a quite chalky look but that goes away as soon as you apply and blend well. They dry quite quickly, but you have plenty of time to work the product and it's really easy to build upon. It leaves a really silky finish to your eye lid and it certainly stays in place. These shadows don't just have to be worn on their own, they're also really good as a base. Now as for lasting 24 hours, I have no idea as I never wear make up for that amount of time. But I have worn these for at least 12 hours and I can confirm they look exactly like I did when I first applied. I don't actually own any Mac paint pots but I have heard they're comparable.

These eye shadows have to be one of my favourite purchases from this year and I reach for them every day. They're such great value for money and the fact they're so long wearing makes this product stand out from the crowd. I really hope Maybelline bring out more colours as I can see this being a really popular product for a long time!

Have you tried these eye shadows? What do you think?

DIY CHANEL NAILS (REALLY EASY!)

CHANEL DECALS - £1.99
(more here & here

Since I've stopped biting my nails (awful habit) my nails have got to a really nice condition and length (apart from my thumb which broke, sob). For the past few months I've been really getting in to nail polishes/art and changing them a couple of times a week to try something new! A couple of weeks ago i turned to eBay to find some nail tools (currently lusting after this) and i came across some decals. Decals are the easiest kind of nail art because all you need is water and some clear polish. You don't have to fiddle about with brushes nor do you need a steady hand and usually, they're a lot cheaper, I currently have my eye on these designs too (here, here & here). As soon found these Chanel ones and i knew i had to have them! They don't take any time at all and i honestly think anyone can do it! Here's how to do it...

STEP 1 - Paint your nails a base colour, i would go for a lighter colour so the designs will show up.

STEP 2 Once dry, cut out the decals to the size you want. I used a square shape as i found it was easier to apply, but a circle will work just as well. With a pair of tweezers pick up the decal and run under water for a few seconds.

STEP 3- Press decal on to nail and hold for at least ten seconds and remove the backing. It will probably move, but that's a good thing because it'll give you the chance to move it and find a spot you like. Once you decided where to put the decal press down with tissue and pad out the water/bubbles.

STEP 4- It will only take a few seconds to dry, so then apply some clear polish to lock the decal in place and give you nail a finish.

Et voilĂ ! You now have your designer nails for £1.99!

MY MAKE UP REMOVAL ROUTINE

We all (well, most of us) wear make up, whether that's once a month or every day, so that also means we have to take it off too. I'd imagine you have your own routine, one that gets it off as quickly as possible or one which gives you a mini pampering session, but either way it has to come off. For years i only used make up removal wipes because it was the quickest and easiest thing to do. Not really knowing that your make up doesn't just sit on the surface, it gets in to all your pores too. I've always been really lucky with my skin, I don't break out, I don't have oily patches and to be honest it's never something I've worried about. I've been very slack with skin care but now I'm getting older I've started to think more about looking after my skin, so the first thing I did was change the way I take off my make up and give myself a real routine. I'm not saying what i do is right or wrong, but it's suited me and my needs...

Firstly I use some sort deep treatment wipe, usually I'll go for Clearasil as they have a really good range, but I don't really have a preference. This step is all for getting the first layer off. I then use an amazing product from Caudalie called 'cleansing water' which is a really lovely hydrating product. I like using this product for eye make up because it's obviously very light and I find it gets in to the nitty gritty bits like gel liner and mascara. Then comes my holy grail, Liz Earle 'Cleanse & Polish' (you can read a full post here) for deep cleansing. It's a very rich formulated cream which you work in to your skin and remove with the warm muslin cloth. You can really feel the product working and removing the days make up to leave your skin feeling incredibly clean. Finally, I'll use my favourite moisturiser from Sanctuary which is one of my favourite scents! It's again quite a thick formula but it blends it really nice and leaves my skin feeling really nourished and fresh. As you can see it's nothing special, it all takes less than 5 minutes, so it's not time consuming at all. You should always take your make up of, it's up to you which products you use but i think it's really important and should come in to your daily routine.

Which products do you use?

WHAT I WORE

Lookbook | Chictopia
Shirt: Own The Runway*
Bracelet: Jon Richard*
Leggings: Primark | Boots: eBay
Bag: Vivienne Westwood

I first wore this outfit when I went out for birthday cocktails a couple of weeks ago and I've worn it a few times since. I mentioned last week that I'm loving this type of print at the moment and it's quickly becoming a wardrobe favourite! I just think it's the perfect statement piece and can easily be dressed up and down depending on what you're up to. I love that it's longer at the back!

Today is the first day i've stopped since Wednesday and i'm not going to lie it's very nice to be sat here in total comfort, tea in hand and not having to worry about getting ready to go out or something. As much as I love having an active social life, I have my own little routine to myself which I don't like to stray away from too much. It's also given me chance to catch up on all things blog related and emails, it's amazing how much things build up when you don't think about it for 4 days! I have had a lovely few days though, spending time with my friends from back home and laughing uncontrollably about nothing is always the best! I went to the pub quiz last night with my friends in Leeds and we came second! We've won some free meals this week so that'll be a nice evening out.

Right now I'm currently waiting for my Asda shop to arrive (so excited to have nice food) and then it's back to taking lots of photos of products for review. I've been trying out lots of new things which I'm really looking forward to telling you all about!

Don't forget today is the last day to enter my giveaway and the last week to get involved for advertising on my blog net month!

Have a lovely week whatever you're up to!

I'M LOVING... BAROQUE PRINT

A lot of these items come in other colours and patterns

I know this trend won't be to every ones taste, believe me when i say it took me a while to get used to it myself! But i absolutely love it and personally can't get enough of it at moment. Since the Missguided show last week I've found myself lusting after these types of prints more and more and i've been adding items to my eBay basket by the day, eBay really is the place to go to get in on this trend for cheap and get yourself set for summer!

Are you a fan of this trend? or have you seen enough of it now?
