ROCCO REPLICA

This is my new baby! Of course it's a faux Alexander Wang, but i don't care because i love it! It's so well made, and apart from the zip on one side being slightly harder to do up i don't think it screams fake at all! But i could be wrong because i'm so in love with it and haven't stopped using it since it popped on my door step last week! I had to be careful when searching on Ebay because they're not allowed to list items as 'fake' or 'replica' but i did manag to find it here. I've never had a problem with buying fake, not everyone can afford the real thing so it does annoy me when there's so much stigma about fake goods. I think the prices of designer items are a rip off anyway. From a fashion production students point of view, i know how much it costs to make these things and believe me it's no where near worth what you pay. So I'm all for fakes! I do have a real Vivienne Westwood bag that i got for my birthday though!
Have you ever bought a fake item? What are your thoughts about it?

  2. Oh my gosh its lovely, I have been using my 'ROCCO' ever since I got it the other week too :) There is nothing wrong with fake bags, as long as they look nice ;) Who the hell can afford to spend £800 on a bag anyway?! Especially when fake ones can look just as nice! :)

  3. Gorgeous bag, looks really good quality for a fake.
I don't own any designer bags, it's not something I would justify spending that amound of money on. Unless of course I had bundles to spare.

  4. Such a gorgeous bag, and I love your hair! I've never bought anything fake for myself but my boyfriend got me a fake Chanel purse once and I used it lovingly for years until it fell apart... then I bought an almost identical one (minus the replica badge!) from Mango. The highstreet are clearly influenced by designers so I don't see that it's that much more of a step to do an outright copy - and like you say, we can't all afford the original price tag!!!

  5. Oh my goodness I love it! It's a really good replica! I completely agree with you, I don't think there's anything wrong with replicas. The price tags of designer pieces are way out of so many people's reach so it's nice to be able to have a copy of that piece for less. The designers should be flattered that they're having such an influence that people are desperate to get their hands on the pieces! Thanks for sharing this with us :) I shall be browsing ebay later...

  7. Definitely agree with you and your thoughts on faux items. The prices are just too extravagent, beautiful as the goods are, and your replica does just the job for a much better pricetag. I used to own a faux Louis Vuitton Speedy, but gave it away (eBay!) when my Mama bought me a real one hahaha. I also have faux Chanel jewellery and watches though ;) Totes popping back to this post for the seller! xxx

  8. i completely agree with this and i must commend you for posting it on your blog. there seems to be a stigma attached to talking about fake goods and people always avoid the topic even if they use replicas themselves.

i for one don't see the problem with it. why should such items only be available to the filthy rich? spending thousands on an item seems silly to me when i could go on an amazing holiday or THREE for that money. people need to get down from their high horse!

i have some designer items - i bought my christian dior purse in paris (the shop where Carrie slips lolz) and two pairs of louboutins which i bought on ebay. looking back i feel stupid.

so i'm definitely checking out this link!!!

  10. There's only one thing I can say tbh: need. In. My. Life!

I'm fine with buying replicas, I understand how it could be quite annoying as a designer but who really cares when you don't have trillions to spend on a designer garment! Xx

  12. I'm really pleased you posted this on here, as you said, not everyone can afford the real thing and it's nice to be able to buy something similar. I don't see why there should be a stigma attached to it. When I went to Bangkok they had a whole (huge) market dedicated to faux designer bags and there were some really beautiful, convincing ones - I bought a faux miu miu one that is beautiful but I wish I'd bought more now, I want to go back! Look forward to seeing who the seller is, I looked for some on websites but they've all been shut down.

  13. Love the bag! It really suits you (if a bag can do that?). I really don't have anything against fakes either. It just really annoys me when people accuse my Mulberry of being fake when I spent quite a bit of money on it. It's just like, well, what's the point? If the real one's look fake, you may as well just buy a replica x

  14. Ooh, it looks gorgeous. I have nothing against faux designer gear (:

  15. Oooh yeah it looks really good quality!

I've never bought fake before, but I'm not against it, though I'm dubious about buying from ebay, I'd wanna see it first to prove it's a good of a replica as described :)

Not suprised you haven't stopped using this since you got it, I wouldn't have either! :D

  16. I love your bag and I love fakes. I completely agree. There is such negative press around fakes copying big designers and it being bad for fashion and the original design but the price they charge for a lot of high end designer stuff is in my opinion quite disgusting. I say good for the companies that provide a similar product at a fraction of the price as fashion should be for everyone :) x

  17. i've never cared about items being fake at all, since i could never justify spending the amount of money a real one costs
am interested to see your link to the seller, the bag looks lovely!

  19. i actually ordered a fake versace purse the other day, ebay seller swore it was real but it cost £22 and it obviously wasn't - HOWEVER, i dont care because ive never really cared for the designer labels, and i bought it because i think it looks super cute anyway regardless of its label. :)

  24. it's gorgeous!
I have a fake chanel bag, got it from hong kong & it's proper leather & really well done. I could never ever afford a real one & to be honest probably wouldn't buy one if i could, I'd be terrified of scratching it etc. & I could never ever justify the price, I'd rather go on holiday. Plus when no one can tell mine is fake anyway, I'd feel daft paying out for a real one!

  26. I think this is actually the Alexander Wang Coco, the Rocco is the same, it just has a shoulder strap. I have a fake Rocco and its one of my favourite bags.

Love your blouse by the way, very chic yet comfy

  30. Looks good! I bought a fake LV in New York and I loved it but over use has left it a little worse for wear, but what should I expect, I bought it off a randomer behind a van in Chinatown!

Now I think that rather than buy fakes I'd rather a)save up and buy the real thing or b)just buy a bag on the high street that isn't a copy of someone else's. But that's just me! Although saying that the more I look at your bag the he more I want it! :P Haha! Enjoy London on Friday! x

  31. This is a gorgeous copy! I see no problem with fakes, as you said not everyone can afford a real one. I think its ridiculous when people have 5 real designer handbags anyway, and half of them aren't even nice, its just for the status symbol.

Whatever, this Alexander Wang one is an excellent copy!

  35. I love your faux AW bag, LOVE IT!

My personal opinion on fakes, I don't mind buying a replica of something if it's well made and there are NO visible logos. I've had a bad experience on ebay, I bought what i thought was a real Juicy Couture bag (it was expensive!) and when it arrive it was so poorly made and an obvious fake :(

I'm going to check out the link for your faux bag its fabulous!

  37. I love the bag. I've wanted a Rocco for ages, but it's just not going to happen. I don't really agree with fakes though. An 'inspired'/similar highstreet version sure, but a total rip off just seems wrong to me.

That's not to say I don't like the bag though! :)

  43. Not a fan of fakes, sorry. It's a massive industry, and one of the most cruel and unfair in regard to the prevalence of sweatshop labour and/or child labour. Perhaps the 'real designers' products are that expensive because they use better quality products which have much less detrimental environmental impact, and because they pay their workers fairly. It's a case of you get what you pay for, not just in regard to product quality but in terms of the effect on the environment and the workers themselves. I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to spread awareness.

    xx

  44. A friend of mine has a couple of fake Chanel bags and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, they were at the more expensive end of the fake spectrum, but they are impressive and I will be getting one asap!
This Rocco rep looks great though, might just get one myself :) xox
