This dress is from Matlan via Matts mum. I don't own anything floral, i was never a fan when it took over high street shops last year but I've got to admit it's a really pretty dress. She said it didn't suit her and asked if I'd like it. At first i wasn't sure but i actually really love it. I ended up wearing it all new years day (with leggins cos it was bloomin cold)
I'm not sure if i mentioned it previously, but as Matt came back for Christmas with me it was only fair we went up to see his family in Newcastle for New Years. This was our 3rd New Year together, usually we just stay in. We got a really early train up there and just spent the day watching films. We also exchanged more Christmas gifts and i got some lovely things from his family which was really nice of them. There was 8 of us on New Years eve and we ate, laughed and drank. Some annoyingly more than others (If you follow me on Twitter you'll know what i mean) But it was a good laugh! 1st of Jan is an all day drinking tradition up where they are and to be honest i wasn't looking forward to this. You'd think being a student I'd be able to drink at all times of the day, but in reality i don't drink much and if i do it's usually once a month and late in the evening kinda thing. But anyways, it did turn out to be one of the most hilarious afternoons of my life. All in all it was a lovely few days, in fact it's been a lovely few weeks but I'm glad to be back in my own little bubble. I can't wait until all our rubbish food is gone, i feel absolutely awful eating all this craapy food, can't wait to get back on the diet. Swear I've piled everything i lost back on!
It's really dawned on me that this year i turn 22 and graduate from Uni. I don't know if i was in denial about it before, or just generally didn't think about it but it's quite scary to think my education will be over in a matter of months. I know I've got to really get on with everything and seriously do the best i can whilst i still have the chance. I've decided to get some help with my dissertation cos it's really starting to get to me and I've done nothing for it. I'm also going to dedicate the whole day tomorrow to do my collection rough designs. My tutor wants it all sorted in the next week and know what fabrics we're using, so far I've not even thought about it. In a way I'll be glad when this break is over, I'm itching to get back in to the swing of things and feel like I'm actually getting somewhere.
If anyone ordered a ring from Weds onwards, it will be posted at some point this week. For anyone else who wants one let me know because they're probably only going to be on offer for another week. I'll also be getting some necklaces in the next few days.
I'm still waiting for my bursary, and my loan should be coming in the next week or so. I'm excited for when it does because I've actually decided to give myself a shopping trip. I never usually spend money on myself, because i always feel too guilty and try and save it for when i really need it. But I'm sick of seeing so much i like and not being able to have it. So that's the plan anyway, but i guess with me it could all change in a heartbeat.
I've seen loads of these 'Three word' around so i decided to set one up! I'll probably delete it soon cos i think it's just another way to insult someone, but for now im finding it hilarious. Thanks if you've said something lovely. LOL if you haven't!
Such a pretty dress! You look great in it. And I so know what you mean about the excess of Christmas junk food!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to getting my ring in the post :o)
xx
That dress looks really great on you - I particularly love the red lips. I know what you mean about uni, I'm in the same boat this year and panicking about my dissertation too. Good luck :) x
ReplyDeleteI love this look on you, it's exactly something I'd wear myself, and your hair looks gorgeous! I hope when mine gets longer it falls as nicely as yours does! Also loving the make-up, the lippie gets a big thumbs up from me! x
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunning in this dress. It really suits your figure and I love your make-up (: I think this is one of my favourite outfits that I've seen you in (: I hope 2011 is good for you sweet. I'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about!
ReplyDeleteOof, Miss VIP you look stunning! & I totally know what you mean about those pesky geordies ;) My Dads family are from there and boy, can they drink!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time :O) xx
Florals look lovely on you! I'll be finishing uni in six months too... but honestly I can't wait for everything to be over! Good luck :) x
ReplyDeleteThe dress really suits you, but then I'm a big floral fan haha! Glad you had a good Xmas. I know it's scary about finishing so soon, but put the work in and it'll be worth it :) xxx

ReplyDeleteLovely dress, really suits you, the shape is great and I love the lippie.
ReplyDeleteYour New Year celebrations sound good, we went to friends, never go out out, too busy and nightmare getting in anywhere.
xx
I'm in a similar situation, only 6 months left of my four year degree and I'm very apprehensive. I think your little action plan sounds good though, hope it all works out with the dissertation etc. How do you find making the rings and getting your work done? I was thinking about selling a few knitted things but am worried I won't have time. Will you stop when work gets a lot busier?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress! It looks wonderful on you! You have great lips too btw! I can't wear red lipstick. You look lovely in it!
ReplyDeleteYou look so summery, it's lovely to see in all this grey weather! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, the colours look gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeleteGo you with the shopping too. Sometimes it's necessary. I was supposed to be on a shopping day trip today, but I'm full of chest infection, so saving myself for next week and have decided to put all of my Christmas money into my shopping fund instead of half as originally planned, as a post lurgy treat.
I love how your red lipstick complements with the red in your dress. You look absolutely lovely here! Your hair photographs differently all the time- it looks almost auburn here.
ReplyDeleteI'm graduating this year, too. Daunting!
that dress is pretty!
ReplyDeleteits scary how fast time goes by...i first noticed that when i was done with school. good luck!

ReplyDeleteThat dress really suits you, the red and black looks lovely on you. Happy New Year :)x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dress! It really suits you, especially with your dark hair and a red lipstick on a pale complexion.
ReplyDeleteDo you go to University of Leeds by any chance? I know exactly how you feel; with exams and dissertations looming, mixed with pressure to get a good final year grade and worries about graduation and what comes after, I'm starting to miss being a lowly fresher and only worrying about passing 40%!
It's nice to hear someone else in the same academic situation as me - I'm in my final year now and graduate in June. Do i know what I want to do? No I do not. But you m'lady are flipping talented so I'm sure you'll find a great pathway from your degree.
ReplyDeleteOh, and florals are your friend!

I really love this dress on you! The colour and shape really suit you!
ReplyDeleteAs for the dissertation stuff, I know exactly what you mean! I haven't done anything for ages! xx
This is lovely! I agree the 'three words' thing is hilarious, I got called 'attention-seeking, cute and fake' in the same entry, how does that work?! Maybe I'm just jealous though because you're better than me ;) I'm more pissed that they used a capital M! My name is supposed to be completely lowercase ;) xx
ReplyDeleteWhy have I not seen this dress, it's where I work! I'm disappointed with myself for not spotting such a lovely item!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good New Years :) I've not spotted this 3 word thingie around, I'll have to have a looksie :)

this is lovely :) The dress is gorgeous. I did like floral, however I think it was a bit OTT & also in winter I find it hard to wear. The black & red is great though, and your hair is super pretty here

Keep up the hard work at Uni hun, you'll get there & finish before you know it (scary stuff)

ReplyDeleteLove this dress, matalan can come up with some surprisingly nice dresses and things sometimes! I know what you mean about wanting to use up all the junk food that's about atm and get back to healthy eating!
ReplyDeleteMy scrabble ring arrived the other day btw, thank you so so so much, I love it and have already worn it a lot! xx
You really do suit red so much - it's perfect with your colouring!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand how you feel about it suddenly dawning on you that you're finishing uni. I felt the same way, although I don't think it really fully hit me until I'd actually left! From what I've read and seen on your blog it sounds like you really enjoy your course (which is where I went wrong - I loved uni but didn't particularly care about my actual degree...) so I'm sure you'll do a great job with your dissertation and everything else. The sketches you posted a while back were awesome! x
Gorgeous dress Victoria, it really suits you, and you look lovely as ever with a red lip! *mega jealz* I'm glad you had a lovely Christmas break sweet (: Good luck with the dissertation, I'm certain you'll have your lightbulb moment soon though! xxx
